Circus loses kids' new clown clothes

Smiles on the faces of Brisbane professional clowns Peebo and Dagwood are even more exaggerated with the launch of their first line of children's clothes inspired by their clown show.

Peebo, aka Mr Peter Bissell, said the clothes let children take the magic and excitement of clown life home with them, and have fun even without a three-ring circus in their backyard.

"These clothes are a uniform for fun - we want the kids who love the antics of clowns to laugh and have a good time wearing Peebo and Dagwood clown clothes," said David Bissell.

"When we pull up to parties in or clown car and hop out with our bright clothes, make-up and enormous shoes, we see the excitement in children's faces," he said.

"We want boys and girls to keep having those good times, being active in their backyard or at the park and sharing our motto to 'live life, love life and laugh'.

Dagwood, aka Mr David Bissell, said one particular children's t-shirt was funny for kids and also had a message that would give adults a giggle.

"Our 'my dad is a clown' t-shirt for children has a few interpretations depending on your view, but it is good, clean fun for anyone who catches a look at the shirt,' said David Bissell.

"Just like in our shows, it's good to have a subtle message to give adults a laugh as well," he said.

"We know mums make most of the buying choices for kids and we think they'll get a kick out of buying 'my dad is a clown' t-shirts for their kids this Christmas.

"We really believe we know a lot about fun, we have entertained more than 10,000 children, performing more than 2,000 shows over the past 12 years - our clothing is just wearable fun," he said.

The Peebo and Dagwood line of clothing includes four styles of children's t-shirts and two styles of adult t-shirts, plus bucket hats; all in various colours.

Peebo and Dagwood entertain children and adults at parties, corporate and public events in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, plus have been featured on national television shows.

The serious side behind Peebo and Dagwood is that they are identical twin brothers who live with Cystic Fibrosis. Both had lifesaving double lung transplants three years ago.
