Chug, chug, chug - what's that sound? Fergus Ferry arrives on bookshelves!
Fergus Ferry, the bravest boat on Sydney harbour, is back! The much-loved first six books have been re-printed in a box set format and six new heart-stopping adventures have just docked in bookstores too. Fergus has all sorts of fun and exciting adventures to appeal to two to six year olds.
Written by John Williamson-Noble in rhyming couplets, which help with early literacy, the books also feature colourful illustrations from Peter Townsend, who previously worked on Bananas in Pyjamas.
Based on real life experiences on the harbour, Fergus rescues a windsurfer from a shark, saves a whale and starts the Sydney to Hobart race. Fergus never says no to anyone in trouble! He also brushes up against the bossy old Manly ferries – Horace and Boris and makes a new friend – Tess the rescue helicopter.
The 12 books in the series include the original six - Fergus the Ferry, Fergus at the Zoo, Fergus at the Fire, Fergus at the Race, Fergus at the Fireworks, Fergus Makes a Difference - together with six new adventures - Fergus to the Rescue, Fergus and Boris, Fergus Goes Bang!, Fergus and Angus, Fergus and the Whale and Fergus Breaks Loose.
There is also a new, delightful, fun and educational website: www.fergusferry.com.
The Fergus Ferry books are available in all Angus and Robertson bookstores and from the website: RRP $9.99 each or $24.99 for the box set which includes the first six books.
