Take Time to express 'MUM = MUM 2'

An Art & Writing competition for daughters around Australia

The Mum = Mum 2 competition by Creative Mums www.creativemums.com.au is looking for submissions in Art & Writings from around Australia about the special bound between daughter and mother 'Mum = Mum 2'. It's about that special realisation that you have been brought into this world by a line of mothers before you, that cord of connection that brings you to the 'beginning of times'.

Works submitted online will be judged by a photo of your original artwork or your entry in text. Artworks can include photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, mosaic, quilting, fashion, graphics, poems, short stories etc.

Jury: A jury will select the best works to be exhibited as part of the Manly Arts Festival 2008 from 7 - 23 September 2008.

The panel of judges are: Angela van Boxtel - Creative Mums Founder & Director, Angela Cushway - Photographer and Director Angel Photography, Katie Brown - Writer 'Mother Me' and Karen Pini - Model and former Miss Australia.

Public Voting & Awarding of PRIZES: The public can vote by an online voting system for their best entry.

AVANT CARD prize: Avant Card postcard will select the AVANT CARD Winner and the winning artwork will be printed on postcards and distributed around Australia leading up to the Manly Arts Festival 2008

Entries close: 15 July 2008
Online submissions of artworks starts from Monday 23 June.

Open to: The competition is open to all females from all ages, young and old, from around Australia - as you are all your 'mothers daughter'. You do not have to be a professional artist or an artis at all. Creative Mums is looking for original creative expressions from the female community about the 'Mum = Mum 2' theme. A drawing from a three year old or a poem or an expressive thought by a ninety year old are ALL welcome.

The Mum = Mum 2 is a tribute to all the special mums on this planet, a tribute to mother earth in general and a legacy to our daughters who might be mothers one day too.
