Success for PPS Colourwear online training courses

PPS Hairwear is leading the way in salon education with the launch of its Colourwear online training courses. Designed to train stylists of all levels in the art of hair colour, the online sessions are available to salons across Australia, with participants receiving certificates in everything from colour trends to foiling techniques.

Since the launch in April this year, the sessions have been in such high demand that an extra five courses have already been added to the schedule to cater for the number of salons on the waiting list.

PPS National Technical Manager, Judi Seeley says the success of the Colourwear Online Learning is due to a number of factors, but the interactive nature of the courses has definitely been a drawcard. "Participants can ask questions throughout the session by clicking a ‘raise your hand’ button on their screen. Colour scenarios can be worked on and discussed, and everyone has a chance to contribute." The sessions are also capped at 15 participants to encourage everyone to contribute.

Not only does the online training program appeal to younger stylists who respond to interactive learning methods, the sessions are also being utilised by experienced hairdressers who enjoy a new approach to learning.

"The PPS Colourwear Online Sessions are also very convenient geographically-speaking, as participants can join wherever they have internet connection and a telephone," says Seeley. "Some salons have stayed back after hours to join as a group, others have gathered at someone’s home and connected the computer screen to the plasma for easy viewing."

The online sessions are also proving highly useful for rural and remote salons as they eradicate travelling time and expenses. "Suburban salons concerned about facing peak hour traffic at the end of a busy day and rising petrol prices are also finding the Colourwear Online Learning beneficial," says Seeley.
