Price Per Wear - What does your child's wardrobe really cost?!
The concept of price per wear has been applied to women's clothing for years - If you buy a pair of shoes for 300 dollars but wear them twice a week for a year they are actually much better value than the $50 pair you bought but only wore once.
In these times of belt tightening, the same concept can apply to buying your baby clothes. There is a slight variation with children as each garment can only be worn for the short period of time that it fits the child.
Look at it this way - that beautiful party dress that you bought for little Sarah may be divine but will only be worn once or twice. The same can be said for poor quality baby clothes that lose their shape and colour in the wash.
This was the reasoning behind the Ducks n Drakes label. Creator Lotty Aerts as a womenswear buyer was very familiar with the price per wear concept. Thus she created a collection of 100% cotton baby clothes made of the highest quality fabric and the highest quality dyes. There is no fussy embelishment so each garment is suitable for everyday from the cot to playgoup.
At $14.95 the singlet can be worn 3 times a week for three months (to allow for washing) - 39 times = price per wear of $0.38.
What cash strapped new mum can argue with logic like that!!
