Safety first is every parent's priority

Did you know that unintentional* injuries are the leading cause of death for children fourteen and under?** Most injuries can be avoided with supervision and the appropriate precautions.

Safety 1st® provides a range of products designed to avoid injuries to children. With National Kid Safe Day on Monday 20 October (the first day of National Children’s Week), it is a good time to remind parents of the importance of safety in the home.

The kitchen and bathroom are two rooms where injuries are common and Safety 1st® has three great products to highlight now:

The clever Tubside Kneeler and Step Stool attaches securely to the tub with suction cups and provides a non-slip step to help children climb into the bath. It then doubles as a padded kneeler and elbow rest for mum or dad’s comfort. It has roomy pockets to keep everything close at hand while its bath time, and then it stores compactly away afterwards. Made of mildew resistant material for long life and easy cleaning, it also can be used as a simple step outside of the bathroom by removing the pockets as the child grows. RRP $49.99.

The unique Comfy Cushy Baby Seat is the only foam inset seat that can be secured to a chair to use for feeding. Its hard shell allows for a three point harness to hold baby in place and straps to secure the seat to a chair, while the SoftTechTM foam insert means comfort and happiness for baby anywhere, anytime. Also included is a tray with cup holder, spoon holder and wash cloth holder. RRP $79.99.

The versatile Recline & Grow 5 Stage Feeding Seat has five distinct stages which allow the seat to grow with your child from three months to toddler. Three reclining positions with tray adjustment and locking feature are ideal for baby as they grow, then the tray and finally the backrest can be removed for children that just need a booster seat. The seat features a three point harness that holds baby in place, a dishwasher proof tray and non skid feet that can be adjusted to fit under any table. Another great benefit is that the seat attaches securely to any chair. RRP $69.99.

Safety 1st® products now have new packaging designed to make it easy for parents to find the right product. Icons and colour coding on the pack identify the product as either infant health, travel, electrical, latches & locks or home safety, making it simple to find exactly what is needed every time.

Safety 1st® products are available at independent nursery outlets and major retailers nationally. Please call 1 300 809 526 for stockists or visit www.safety1st.com for more information.

Safety 1st is distributed by IGC Dorel Pty Ltd. * The term “unintentional” is preferred to “accidental” when discussing children and injuries as accidental tends to imply unavoidability and injuries can generally be avoided with supervision and the appropriate precautions.
