Question: How Do You Tell Someone They're Beautiful?

a) Tattoo their name in cursive script on your right arm?
b) Hire a skywriter to declare your feelings in the clouds?
c) Log on to www.NIVEA.com.au/beautiful and follow the instructions...

As the next phase of its 'Beauty Is...' campaign, NIVEA is launching a viral campaign that invites you to tell your friends and family why you think they're beautiful.

"I think you're beautiful because..." will be available at www.NIVEA.com.au/beautiful from the beginning of May and for every message sent, NIVEA will donate 50c to Look Good, Feel Better - a free community service program dedicated to helping women undergoing treatment for cancer restore their appearance and self-image.

I THINK YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL BECAUSE...
Simply log on the website www.NIVEA.com.au/beautiful and follow the prompts to have your message emailed to your friend or family member. Once your recipient has clicked on the link in the email, they will be taken to the video page where your personalised message will be screened.

THE BACKGROUND: 'BEAUTY IS'
At the beginning of 2007, NIVEA launched one of its most ambitious studies in its 125-year history. NIVEA's market research team developed a detailed survey concept to discover what 'beauty is' for people all over the world.

THE FINDINGS
NIVEA canvassed the opinions of a huge cross section of women in Brazil, Germany, Russia, China, and the United States. The NIVEA research team collaborated with doctors, nutritionists, trend analysts, sociologists and psychologists to develop the framework for a comprehensive beauty survey. To complement this international initiative, an online survey of over 1,000 Australian women - aged 18-55 years - was undertaken to discover local perspectives of beauty.

The NIVEA study discovered that globally women today hold a holistic view of beauty, believing that it goes far beyond just looking good. It's the interplay between physical attributes, good health, grooming, and well-being, a positive personality, nurturing fulfilling relationships, and of course developing one's inner self.

Australian women rated 'looking healthy' (93%) and 'natural' (89%) as the most important aspects of outer beauty, while being glamorous and trendy were the least important. Similarly, a gorgeous smile and healthy skin were rated as the most important physical features, while a slim figure only came in at number ten.

NIVEA also wanted to find out what inner beauty meant for Australian women. Respondents spoke about a 'radiant glow' - a combination of being happy, at peace, confident and healthy. Being successful scraped in at number 15, but being caring and compassionate were the outright winners.

These findings tie in with the NIVEA philosophy; that beauty is individual and holistic. NIVEA believe that the source of true beauty lies in the sum of three significant parts: in looking beautiful, in feeling beautiful and in being beautiful in how you live your life and the way you interact with others.

So show your loved ones how much you care and tell them why you think they're beautiful on www.NIVEA.com.au/beautiful. We all know that beauty is impossible to define, but NIVEA makes sharing beauty easier than ever before. NIVEA understands that BEAUTY IS CARE.
