Following the launch of the popular new kids show, the WotWots, preschoolers around Australia are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of the cute and cuddly collection of toys set to hit shelves on September 2nd.

Preschool play experts, Playskool and the masterminds at the Academy Award winning, Weta Workshop have combined forces to create the WotWots toy range, bringing to life the popular ABC children's show.

The refreshing formula of the WotWots series is a collaborative effort of Academy Award winner Richard Taylor, and internationally acclaimed author and children’s television creator, Martin Baynton of Jane and the Dragon fame.

The WotWots series is about two adorable siblings from outer space, SpottyWot and DottyWot, who come to explore planet Earth in their steam powered spaceship. These inquisitive and energetic creatures land in a zoo and delight in discovering all the exotic creatures that live there. The show celebrates the joy of discovery and the extraordinary diversity of life on the planet.

Playskool has taken Weta Workshop’s delightful designs and turned them into fun and engaging toys that encourage play, as they believe children learn best when they are having fun. SpottyWot and DottyWot have transitioned from the screen to the hands of delighted kids thanks to the partnership.

The toy range which has been designed to capture the magic of the series and essence of the characters, allows kids to re-create their own WotWots adventures at home. Including scooting SpottyWoty and DottyWot around in their hover-chairs, imagining how they would look as different animals and exploring creativity through drawing.

WOTWOTS CREATOR COMING TO SHOPPING CENTRE NEAR YOU!

Anyone that doesn’t know WotWots the excitement all about is about to find out when the Academy Award winning creator, Richard Taylor of the popular preschool program comes to a Westfield Centre near you from 2nd to 4th September.

Richard Taylor is the royalty of pre-schoolers having created the WotWots with internationally acclaimed author and children’s television creator, Martin Baynton of Jane and the Dragon fame. Taylor’s company, Weta Workshop’s past credits have included providing physical and digital effects for films including The Lord of the Rings trilogy, King Kong, The Chronicals of Narnia and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. For The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Weta provided the design, fabrication and on-set operation of the creatures, special make-up effects and prosthetics, miniatures, armour and weaponry. Richard and his team have won many international film awards including five Academy Awards and three BAFTAS.

Taylor, a New Zealander will fly into Australia to help the launch of the toy range and meet young fans. While at his in-store appearances, Richard will be making an appearance for WotWots story time and then conducting colouring-in and craft activities with the kids, and then reads some of WotWots stories. He will make three 40 minute appearances at 12.00noon, 2.00pm and 4.00pm.
